What has Jane gained since she started Personal Training?
More energy – Jane had a well-established habit of relaxing after a hard day’s work with TV and snacks. Now she cycles to the gym for a swim after tea!
Improved mobility and movement confidence – We identified at the start of our sessions that leg strength was an issue as Jane found it hard to get off the floor without using support. She’s now confidently doing single leg lunges unaided. This is particularly significant as she is a new Granny and wanted to be able to play on the floor with her grandson.
Increased understanding of her strength capabilities- Initially Jane found most weights ‘heavy’ and acknowledged that she wouldn’t have selected them if she was training on her own. She is now using them with confidence.
Increased awareness of food nutrition values particularly when making meal and snack choices.
More meal variety and meal enjoyment- new recipes to reflect the increased awareness
Better digestion – adding a wider variety of fruit and vegetables has made a big difference
More smiles and feeling less stressed – Jane’s nearest and dearest have noticed her improved mood!
Ok, so it’s not all gains. She’s also lost…
her regular grab and go meal deal habit
the feeling of obligation to eat whatever office treats were given to her
her ambivalence to exercising
over 14lbs!
I would like to take credit for all of this but Jane has done the work!
She has been fantastic – diligent, determined, and willing to make gradual changes. She trains with me once a week but has also set herself step goals and is swimming and cycling regularly.
All this from someone who told me in her first session ‘I don’t like exercise and I get bored easily’!
Introducing H: Going from strength to strength
With no prior experience of resistance based exercise but with a few aches and pains slowing her down, and encouraged by her daughter in law, H decided she would give personal training a go.
She felt it was “now or never” with regards to feeling fitter and stronger.
She had some very understandable apprehension about using weights but we have worked together to gradually build up what she does each session and she’s loving finding out what she is capable of!
S – Strength training to support her passion
Sarah loves mountain biking. It is a very physically demanding sport. resistance training has helped her strength and stamina on the bike. She is also enjoying a new way of exercising.
‘I enjoy the challenges and variety in each session and the camaraderie of the small group’
